چکیده

• End-products of sludge-based AD were used for SCP production the first time. A potential solution to valorize underutilized products generated at WWTPs. Methylomonas dominated in mixed culture. The protein content reached 41% w/w dry weight. Several essential amino acids detected. Single cell (SCP) provides an alternative source partially replace conventional agricultural resources and support increased nutritional needs. Inexpensive feeding is one key limiting factors expansion production. present study examined valorization biogas derived from anaerobic digestion (AD) sewage sludge discarded effluent as nutrients produce using methanotrophic bacteria. Results indicated that culture can grow well on pasteurized supernatant biogas, succeeding promising weight (DW) yield (0.66 ± 0.01 g-DW/g-CH 4 11.54 0.12 g-DW/g-NH + ). (56.26%) Methylophilus (24.60%) spp. two main representatives produced dried biomass had a higher than w/w, including like histidine, valine, phenylalanine, isoleucine, leucine, threonine lysine. cultivated shows utilization animal diets.

Bioconversion of methane to lactate by an obligate methanotrophic bacterium.

Methane is the second most abundant greenhouse gas (GHG), with nearly 60% of emissions derived from anthropogenic sources. Microbial conversion of methane to fuels and value-added chemicals offers a means to reduce GHG emissions, while also valorizing this otherwise squandered high-volume, high-energy gas. However, to date, advances in methane biocatalysis have been constrained by the low-produ...

Methanotrophic bacteria for nutrient removal from wastewater: attached film system

It was hypothesized that nutrient removal from waste water could be achieved by using methane oxidizing bacteria (melhan otrophs). Because methane is inexpensive. it can be used as an energy source to encourage bacterial growth to assimilate nitrogen and phos phorus and other trace elements. This initial feasibility study used syn thetic nutrient mixtures and secondary sewage effluent as fe...

Bacteriophages of methanotrophic bacteria.

Bacteriophages of methanotrophic bacteria have been found in 16 out of 88 studied samples (underground waters, pond water, soil, gas and oil installation waters, fermentor cultural fluids, bacterial paste, and rumen of cattle) taken in different geographic zones of the Soviet Union. Altogether, 23 phage strains were isolated: 10 strains that specifically lysed only Methylosinus sporium strains,...

Modeling of immobilized cell columns for bioconversion and wastewater treatment.

Immobilized cells are widely used in bioconversions to produce biological products as well as in wastewater treatment such as solvent removal from wastewater streams. In this work, a rate model is proposed to simulate this kind of process in an axial-flow fixed-bed column packed with porous particles containing immobilized cells. The transient model considered various mass transfer mechanisms i...
